I mean, they’re not far from the cost, of installing a cheap floor- but here’s why they have my vote:
1) versatility. I’m using them on the laundry room cement floor (literally right after installing my first few, my washer decided to explode for the first time ever- I’m SO glad, this wasn’t the case, after installing, say, actual flooring! Lol)
I’m also using them on the cold, hard laminate in the basement living room, so the kids are more comfortable playing and crafting there!
Also put a few upstairs, in front of the front door, where the soon-to-b-replaced crusty floor holds ALL the giant dog oils - gross-
And where the dog usually makes my rugs so dirty -
(some of my photos are of testing it out, not final placement)

2) PET APPROVED! My St Bernard mix is a lovable but gross animal lol. He’s always tracking dirt, grime, slobber trails, hair, and whatever garbage he gets into - ON MY RUG! Nope!
With these down - they don’t even look bad! They look better than the old hardwood, at least in some places!
Also- dog is epileptic, so, if a seizure happens- it’s a HUGE dog- and mess
Easy cleanup!
He is very picky about his spot- and I am too, because it’s a small space, and we try to keep it cozy and livable- and easy for kids to help clean!
Dog loves the tiles! He gets hot in beds, and they’re hard to clean in his size, and take up too much space, here.
It’s absolutely perfect for all the things!
3) my 6yo installed a bunch- so, literally anyone can! A great answer for persons who cannot install floors themselves for any reason.

And the price, was pretty decent, even comparably to the ugly colourful ones for kids-
But they actually look really sweet!
I’m super happy with this purchase, and feel no guilt over the $ I spent, here.

I’ve already taken them apart, moved them around a bunch, had my washer explode on some-

I am very pleased with the floor mats and they are fitting together quite easily. A couple of the mats were slightly off in color from the other black mats but they are not affecting the overall use as I will be putting a throw carpet on top of them. It was so cold on the concrete basement floor and now that problem has been resolved plus they are firm yet very comfortable to walk on. I recommend this product and delivery was very quick.

Edited April 3, 2024: I just purchased these mats again as they work out so well and very pleased with the quality. My concrete floors are so much nicer to walk on with these mats. Recommended.

All the mats came in good condition, nothing was damaged. Each piece interlocked with all the others with no issues. I bought these mats to set a small tactile boundary for when I'm doing VR fitness and for the most part, it works for my purposes. What areas could be improved? The first time I used it, I was barefoot and after my workout, my feet were black and a bit slippery so I guess whatever coating is on the mat transfers off. I have these mats on hardwood and the mats have no grip at all so I found the mat slipping a bit around the surface of the floor, which is unfortunate. I will have to apply some type of anti-traction material to the underside (maybe a few rubber nubbins) so that the mat slip doesn't happen (which could be very dangerous for VR).

The price for 6 mats is also on the expensive side and knowing how the product functions now for my purposes, I think I would have been better off buying a couple of thicker yoga mats to avoid the slipping and because rolling up a yoga mat is much easier than locking/unlocking all the mat pieces again, since I store it under my couch when not in use.
