This is high quality pottery! It’s also a great combination of class and plain out cute! It’s designed in the likeness of a Shiba Inu dog, but honestly…it reminded me of my daughters dog who is a corgi mix…so, corgi lovers can also get into this…or if you’re like me and has NEVER seen a dog I didn’t like!
The inner glaze is nice and thick, so it absolutely works as an umbrella stand/holder…but, it’s so nice…you might not want to put any umbrellas in it! I was going along with the umbrella thought until it arrived and it’s so nice…I’m thinking maybe dried flowers now because I’m not sure I have the heart to put any soggy umbrellas in it!
The details are precise…none of those painted out of the lines sort of thing you see in quickly mass produced pottery…they took their time and it shows by the quality! It’s also decent sized and weighted well…you can judge by my hand in the photos….this isn’t some top heavy tiny vase.
Again…functionally…this pottery can have many different uses from umbrellas to holding dried flowers (large sort…imagine preserved sunflowers when I say flowers….not tea roses because this is large). VERY unique piece and one you’d be proud to display. A definite thanks needs to be said to the creators because in our fast paced world…so many things are made quickly and the quality ends up on the wayside… this is different. I know some potters that make all of their items by hand and they take their time; however, nothing as nice as this!
