    This product has been a night mare, defective battery, heated up to the point of HOT…. And smelling…. Took them 10 days to replace it, told me the charger was defective, another week for a new one….. , weed trimmer doesn’t feed, and pulls the cord back in to the spool….they are horrible to deal with. I will not purchase another Greenworks product!! Spend a little more and get a quality product.

    My gas powered blower finally died and I was on the hunt for a new blower when I saw this combo. I didn’t really need a new trimmer, but consolidating a battery system sounded like a good idea and my electric trimmer is also getting old. For context, my property is like a corner city lot with a parkway, sidewalk, front/side/back yards, etc. It is not a large suburban or rural lot. To save you some time, if you have a large piece of land, this is probably not the right set for you.

    I ordered this up. First box arrived and the trimmer was dead. The blower worked fine, but the trimmer was dead. Amazon exchanged for another one and this one had two functioning units!

    Setup is very easy. The trimmer is in two connected sections that you just snap together and adjust to the size you like. You also need to attach the guards and the handle. The guard is held in place by three screws. You need your own Phillips screwdriver. The handle just slides on and is tightened with a hand screw.

    **Just make sure to take the tape off the blade on the guard and the string.**

    The blower is even easier, you just snap on two pieces.

    The kit includes ONE battery and one charger. The included battery is the small 2 Ah one. Anticipated run time is 20 minutes. This is where my first gripe comes in. They only included one battery with the two tool kit and then chose to include their smallest battery. This almost certainly necessitates another purchase of a larger battery or at least one more of the same size. I have about 20 minutes of trimming and 10 minutes of blowing to do and one battery just doesn’t make it.

    In terms of capacity, these both performed very well for my light-duty landscaping needs. I took off the front trimmer guide and it performed like a champ with trimming up short grass. If you had to go through large weeds or brush, I’m not sure there’s enough power for that. The blower was also fine. In fact, I thought I needed the second speed, but the slower speed worked just fine to blow grass clippings and small wood chips/acorns. Again, I have very light duty needs and these tools worked fine.

    The overall quality feels just average. Between the first trimmer being dead on arrival and the build just feeling somewhat cheap, I’m not confident that these will last very long. However, I have no way of knowing that. They worked well for me today.

    I think these could be the right tools for a lot of people who live on smaller pieces of property. They are inexpensive, lightweight, and perform adequately for small lots. If I had more land, besides hiring a landscaper, I wouldn’t use these. I would get higher performing tools, which would cost more money.

    I think these are 3.5 star tools overall. I’ll update the review if I run into durability issues.

    It worked fine for about 9 months. I like how the head swivels around at different angles. The battery that it came with would die after about 15 minutes of use. That's barely enough for my small yard. However, after 9 months, though, it would suddenly stop working. I had to shake the head around violently to get the motor to start up again. And then after 10 months, the spinner wouldn't spin fast enough to cut the grass and weeds. Now it's just loud and annoying because it'll only bruise the grass, making more of a mess. Of course, I didn't by warranty coverage on it, so Greenworks won't help. Next trimmer, I'm going to go with a different brand.
